Layout Club

Layout- the signature hustle play in Ultimate, to make a full speed dive for the disc on offense or defense.

The Layout Club was formed in October 2014 to support Grady Ultimate. The Layout Club is comprised of friends of the program: players, former players, parents, and anyone who loves Ultimate and wants more kids to have the chance to play.

Layout membership is open to all who wish support Grady Ultimate Gauntlet (GUG). Funds pay for Player Scholarships, tourney fees, uniforms, and field rentals.  We ask all families with a current player join Layout each year. An annual contribution in the amount of $50 is suggested, but every donation helps.

The Layout Club is led by a Board of parents and volunteers who manage the budget, tourney logistics, communications, coach support, and more. If you have an hour a month to help, reach out to our Layout Board HERE.

Scholarship info can be found HERE.

GUG History

Grady Ultimate was originally sponsored by Susie Mercer, a teacher at Grady High School, in 2006. Ms. Mercer coached and managed the Ultimate program for eight years and left behind a wonderful legacy for Grady youth Ultimate players. Thank you Merc!

GUG has grown from a ragtag coed team that rarely had 7-on-7 at practice to a thriving program comprised of two varsity & JV Boys & Girls teams.

GUG has benefited from elite-level coaching from local Chain and Ozone players Max Leonard (Gauntlet captain, 2006, 2007), Emily Lloyd, Mark Poole, Haley Reese, Dylan Tunnell, Asa Wilson, and many alumni who remember when their knees were better and lungs were larger.
